| Castellon is not much of a big city and it is the mountainous of all the provinces in Spain. This place is famous for its mountain walks, laidback villages and being a rural place. Castellon also has the best beaches, this is the coast of Costa Azahar and the coastal area attracts tourists every year. Its tourism also grew through the years because of the agriculture and the ceramics of the province.
Castellon is located between the sea and the mountain range, Desert de les Palmas. This is not much of a big city and it is both a modern and a historical place. You will find buildings that date back from the medieval times. Every place in Castellon is just a walk away from each other. If you stroll especially around the old quarter which is the Plaza de la Pescaderia, the Plaza de Santa Clara, and the Plaza Mayor, you will find buildings that are from the Renaissance period. And just nearby at the Avenida Rey Don Jaime, you will see the modern buildings and stores. At the Plaza de la Paz, the attractions Teatro Principal and the Fadri are just strolls away from each other. There are also gardens in the place, the Royo Gomez geological Gardens and the Calduch Botanic Gardens. Aside from these attractions that you will see around, there are numerous activities that you can do also, such as cycling, hiking, fishing, windsurfing and so on. There are also golf courses; there are actually two of them in Castellon.
Although this place is not that a big city yet there are hotels, in fact it is recommended to stay in hotels at the city center where every attractions in the place are just minutes away from each other. You can see the attractions and sights by not even trying to take the bus or so.
