Beaches

Castellon is proud of its beaches that are usually the reason why tourists simply love the place. The seas are all well taken care of and the promenades of the beach are enticing enough to let you have a dip or two. The line of old villas gives more character to the sea front of the beaches. At the site of them, you get that certain homey fell in an instant. Aside from that, the rocky section of the coastline and the glistening golden sand are just marvelous.

Just beside the Castellon Sea Port is the famous Serallo Beach . It is a 14,000 -meter stretch beach and it is something that is referred to as a submerged beach. At the south side of the area is a dry beach that was believed to be formed by gravel as base of the shore s composition. Because of human activities, like construction and shore defenses plus the direct movements of sand and gravel at the beach s coastal area, most part of the beach has a greater amount of sandy material. This is the reason that the south part of Serallo beach is called a dry beach. But Serallo beach in itself is not really that dry. During earlier times, the Serallo beach served as a very important means of defense from invaders. The Serallo Beach coastline has a prominent longitudinal revetment that interrupts erosion.

Another notable tourist spot in Castellon is the Ben Afeli Beach . It has a length of 450 meters and 40 meters in average width. During the day, the Ben Afeli Beach offers a very soothing place for rest and recreation. It had actually two detached breakwaters that are believed to emerge from the gravel beach.

The third beach in the city of Castellon is the De la Torre Beach . It is popular among tourists too because of its inviting calmness. It has eight groins with the width varying anywhere from 45 meters to 15 meters. It has a total length of 2,200 meters. De la Torre beach is mainly composed of gravel giving the area a rocky appearance. This beach is actually has non-single composition that lessens erosion instances and thus creating the beautiful beach.

It s also interesting to note that tourists should be aware of the fact that it is perfectly legal in Spain to have people be nude in public so be more open-minded when you see nudists especially in the beach, Cala Argilaga is just one of them. Also don t forget to feast on wonderful Spanish cuisine that Castellon has to offer, expect to be treated to a lot of seafood and rice dishes.

Castellon beaches are not only a treasure for its residents because it attracts tourist thus provide income for the city, but its beaches also help in the agriculture industry of Castellon .
